What a different company this has become.
We used to get heaps of fluffy fluff to make us feel good (although very little of it was actually of any value), and now we get diddly squat about extremely important things.
I used to be in the military.
The most apt word from those days to describe this situation would be rockshow.
For you civvies, you could call it a circus.
