I am also not a recent long, having held around 5k worth for a few years. I did make the mistake of buying (and throwing in another 10k), not selling when the price dropped, but you cannot win them all.
At worst it means that I lose all of last years portfolio trading/dividend profits, at best something better than that. At least I know what my outcome is if it works out that QIN gives me back 0, but mathematically (if we want to do the 0* type math that HT states above) that means that any gain or return above that is infinitely higher than 0...
