michelef: it is not your typical celebrity diet. A German woman, name of Jutta Poschet studied under a group of American doctors, the main of which was Dr Theran Randolph

I don't know how long she studied with him, but she gives him credit for inspiring her diet book, the essence of which is that the body takes 24 hours to eliminate the food we eat, but in actual fact the further absorption and eventual use and discharge of the food takes 4 days. It is also easier for the body to digest and metabolise foods which are related, so she has divided four differing food groups into 4 separate days, within which there is huge variety, which you can select yourself from a list also provided. But she provides menu suggestions for 28 days, which I haven't done yet, because I reacted so strongly after only 4 days. I have stopped today, because I have a dinner party coming up on Saturday, but will stick to a very simple diet for the rest of the week.
One of the effects I found was that my body was trying to get rid of so much, mostly liquid, I had to stay home one day close to a toilet (sorry - that's eased off now, thank G.) but I felt and still feel fantastic and full of energy; mentally I have lost my sadness (sick child!) and I can recognise my former positive self, skin is better, too, I sleep better.
I didn't really know that I hadn't been o.k., because I am doing it on behalf of one very sick daughter (cancer) who stuffs her body with an array of differing tablets per day on top of her chemo and what-have-you. I am experimenting, basically, only slightly overweight - need to lose 4 kgs to have my former weight - and have already lost 1kg, probably in water. The diet is also completely salt- and sugar-free; you can use fresh herbs; herbal teas; quality honey, maple syrup and stevia for sweeteners.
I need to get my rubbish bin out - and I will send another message, once I have translated a sample menu.
Go well
