Gosouth - hey, I agree I was just grabbing the PE from statutory earning. Lets not get into the argument about whether it should be statutory or underlying earnings. IMHO AEF has been trading on underlying earnings for way too long when every year they have some extra-ordinary event. Now I wouldn't mind if those events were to increase growth but they are always negative (property devaluations, restructuring, unit pricing issues, etc).
And a PE of 25 is more than a tad high - compare it to Pengana (PCG) who trade at a PE of 11. Following the merger with Hunter Hall there is some potential upside.
