capital raising & thorney holdings

Just wondering what your thoughts are on the capital raising and on the calibre of Thorney Holdings?

What are they raising capital for? they are already profitable, are they gonna have a tilt at BKR or some other businesses?

And Thorney Holdings (Dick Pratt's investment arm), would you consider them an astute investor? While Pratt is an exceptional businessman, does his investment arm have any standing?

I looked at some of their current and previous holdings;
Gale Pacific Ltd, Redflex, Medica Holdings, QPSX, Smartworld (or something like that). And i'm not too sure how good any of them really are....i was less than impressed with Smartworld, some dodgy tech co.

Well the market seems to think its was a good move, MPH closed up to 50c. But is the inclusion of Thorney Holdings really a good sign?
