Oil floats on water, so if the poor cement job at NS! let water into the higher oil leg, then where has the displaced oil gone?
For the oil to be present in the first well tells you that it was intersected in valid trap otherwise the oil would have already leaked away or not be present.
CVN is run by a proven operator, just let him do his job and we will all be happy!
