@fooca, there has always been a close relationship with John Watts, he was the CEO of GPP from 2011 until his resignation in March 2014.
I appreciate that they used Borg Geosciences due to their specialisation in lithium and the level of impartiality it afforded during phase I. Looking at the website it looks like Borg Consulting still exists in some form so I'm not convinced they couldn't have been involved in Phase II but maybe the directors wanted someone they have a longstanding relationship with?
We know the experience of the GSM team (thanks @apkjm and @ans25) - anyone know if John Watts has a lithium or REE background?
