Had a family friend who mortgaged his house to buy a dump truck and trailer in the late 90s. Constructions for the Olympic and the M7 was underway and he made quite a fortune then.
From memory the truck and trailer (used) costs him about $120k to $160k. Back when his modest house was about $140k... remember those days? For that he got paid $1000 a day, 6 days a week.
Physically demanding job though. You wouldn't think it seeing how it's just driving but yea.
