As a retiree investor, I regularly make an effort to attend investment conferences particularly those that offer free passes to retiree investors. Peter Cook (MD of West Gold and former MD of Metals X) is my favourite presenter as he is so engaging with the audience and entertaining. Like you I have never owned shares in Metals X or WestGold (Spun out of Metals X with their Gold assets) - too expensive - my investment preference is towards the junior explorers rather than established mining companies.

so you asked what excites me about West Gold and THX - well mostly the fact that over Peter Cook's successful history at running mining companies he is always the most eager to look for acquisition opportunities particularly in competitive areas. He mentioned that all major gold companies are looking for additional gold reserves and that got me thinking that one of their major project focus is their Central Murchison Gold Project which is near Meekatharra. There are also a couple of other gold mining Companies operating in this area. Maybe if our Garden Gully project continues to deliver the goods it could be a prime acquisition target for a number of Companies including West Gold!!

I am one of the few who is happier that THX received the $1.5m cash rather than the shares in SFR. If i was running the company the $1.5m would be going straight into GG effective immediately!!!
