The facility mentioned in the announcement is a slaughterhouse not a chicken farm.
It is not at all small....it currently processes 40,000 chickens per day to be expanded to 70,000 per day.
This means that fully expanded it will deplete that Australian farm of its entire stock of 300,000 chickens in just 4 days.
Based on a 5 day operating cycle, the Italian plant will be processing around 18 million chickens per year......I would imagine that the size of the chicken farms supplying the Italian facility would dwarf that Australian farm .
