Thanks for posting this article. The call in by EdF would seem to have defied logic as it would have obtained its payout if a sale to CNNC had gone ahead. There was some suggestion that EdF itself may be interested in LHM although this would have conflicted with its other business arrangements with CNNC. Another explanation could be that EdF are just cash hungry after recent drop in earnings and a bail out of part of Areva. Now that the spot price is low, another suggested motive is that EdF gets its money back and then buys the same amount of uranium at a much lower price. The announced formation of Areva NewCo indicates there could be other strategies in play for EdF to have sent PDN into administration such as you have suggested.
