Kimberley Diamond shares suspended on ASX pending announcement UPDATE

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Kimberley Diamond Co NL said trading in its shares has been halted on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) pending an announcement.
'Rumour in Australia points towards a potential corporate transaction, with an offer for the company from Gem Diamonds seen as the most likely deal,' said John Meyer, an analyst at Numis Securities.
In February, Kimberley Diamond said it had not received any takeover proposal from Gem Diamonds or any other company.
In a separate statement today, Kimberley Diamond said that JP Morgan Chase & Co has ceased to be a substantial stake holder. [email protected] ash/bsd/jc
