Its recent history that even holding the best and most prosperous companies as they rotate through prosperity that a buy and hold strategy will eventually wipe you out.
Let alone the fact that buying todays big blues will probably put you significantly and if not negative return on your investment 50yrs from now even if the markets continue up without a hicup.
