STU is hardly a one hit wonder. You have completely ignored Acrasia. STUs' strike rate on its drilling so far comparable if not better than BPT. 2 out 3.
STUs share price I believe stagnated because its native title negotiations panned out longer than thought but they have been active since then. Not unusual for a price opportunity to be created in this situation (or a loss of value for the holder suitting it out).
However, as with your argument with SHG, dont ignore underlying value, as ultimately the price should follow.
Whilst I personally believe STU is the better buy, I agree with you why not own both as they both have a good story, however that is not always possible and does not always give a better return.
