    I was, and I recorded the presentation. The direct quote from Richard Irving was:

    "the certification issue is not as critical as we thought it was, but it's still a priority"

    It has become apparent that provincial certification, once thought to be critical to our sales in China, is actually not. One of our Chinese posters @andy_haha explained that it was more of an award to show that it the product meets standards. We are still applying for certification using the demo plant data, but the SOE's do not need it, nor - as @prowiz said above, and has been proven by the 3 commercial deals we've signed - do private sector partners.

    I don't know if there's an Australian equivalent, but in the UK they have the Kitemark. It's a little stamp on some manufactured goods which basically says "this product has been tested and authenticated by a national standards body". Whilst the Kitemark might help a company to show their product is 100% legitimate, it is by no means required before you can sell that product in the UK.
