Comex Copper Retreats Due To Stocks, Technicals
1432 GMT [Dow Jones] - Comex copper has retreated modestly, with Sep down 2
cents to $3.6855 a pound around midsession. Some of the pressure is the result
of the 2,275-metric-ton build in LME stocks reported overnight, says a trader.
Also, he continues, copper in London -- which tends to lead Comex -- fell back
after it was unable to penetrate resistance around $8,240 a metric ton. "We
approached major resistance in London," he says. "We didn't quite get there,
but got close." Three-month copper's advance so far stopped at $8,212. (ALS)
