Why would they fear a placement? A placement is great news and signals that they need the funds to further move the product to commercialisation. This would be GREAT news. Whether some cash from exercising these discounted oppies would help I don't know.

My take is exactly what you are saying. People are still trying to trade the fringes, get scared like sheep every time the momentum swings, and will end up being burnt just like you have described.
It's time to buy them and sit on your hands imo....
keep trying to trade in and out at your peril!!!
