what an eloquent thought agwright. its poetic - though im personally of the view all companies start out as 'open source' - in a metaphorical sense' but inevitably beome closed systems to greater or lesser degrees

but for some reason only IT companies ever get any brand kudos for it

like humans - they initially are 360 degree outreach - then once they form meaningful connections they inevitaby refine themselves to key relationships

but i do agree that the literal 'open source' universal input/output approach BUD is building into all its protocols is a better recipe for remaining relevant long term
