COP is the operator of Kunde #3, not TCEI. They had drilled vertically to 11700ft on 26 Jun. Horizontal drilling of chalks won´t take long unlike say the sandstone at Eagle so I wonder if they tested the vertical at the start of the month before drilling the horizontal? COP has deep pockets & the majors normally like to test both the vertical & horizontal. This well costs $5m so enough provision for comprehensive testing.
It is likely that the equipment & crew will move to SL#1 after they have finished here, hence the caveat in AUT´s statement yesterday re timing:-
"The fracture stimulation of the Sugarloaf -1 well is presently expected to begin by mid August, subject to equipment availability."
