Platinum is generally associated with ultramafic rocks so that would also bode well for the discovery of extensions of the CleanTeq Syerston style Ni, Co, Scandium mineralisation on RIMs ground but this is speaking in a very generalised sense as the platinum would normally come in with the formation of primary sulphide deposits, probably with high levels of Ni + Cu. Maybe we have the sulphide complexes on the RIM ground and they have the "barren" ultramafics that have just lent themselves to the right type of weathering. Problem is the source of the platinum + sulphides are harder to find. From memory the platinum that was mined at Fifield is found at the bases of old buried erosion pathways/channels so the deposits are secondary. The primary source of the platinum is yet to be located from what I remember. It could also be on Clean Teq's ground. Given the amount of drilling they've done to define the Syerston deposit I'd be highly surprised if any geochemical signal pointing to the possible existence of a sulphide deposit went missed. Esh
