China's MC$1.04B Kan Specialties Group, Qingdao Qianyun and AGY

Thought this might deserve it's own thread so any research we do won't get lost

Kan Special Materials Group (Kane Shares) are a Chinese Publicly listed company with a Market Cap of AU$10.4 Billion dollars.

They have taken a 51% controlling stake in Qingdao Qianyun High-tech New Material Co. Ltd who in turn have taken a 20% stake in AGY to fund the Rincon Project Stage 2 development. QQ have also agreed for 6 years worth of off take from AGY which should net AGY about US$75m all up on top of the equity stake

Kane Shares started as a paper production company in 1998 and further expanded to Capacitor and Electrolytic materials and currently have 1400 employees (Thanks @monquay)

Kane Shares apparently were aware of the AGY/QQ deal in may as they went into Trading Suspension to consider "significant acquisition and company realignment" while they did Due Diligence on AGY and QQ. They have contacts in the Electric Vehicle market in China also advised in the last few days to have taken a 10% stake in a Hydrogen Fuel Cell startup in China and from all looks of it want into the Battery game. QQs and Kans products is all that is required to produce Batteries... with AGY LCE being the key

They obviously like AGY and our assets.. enough to tie up a controlling stake in QQ worth 950m Yuan, and bring foreign project off take securely in to China.
