Exploring how long the backlog reduction could go on, there is another series called DMFS;

DMFS is "A Drug Master File (DMF) is a submission to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that may be used to provide confidential detailed information about facilities, processes, or articles used in the manufacturing, processing, packaging, and storing of one or more human drugs."

Im new to these terms, but i expect that not all DMF submissions will be approved, so its an upper limit, it gives some context to the approval rate from my previous post.



So April, May, June approval rate is clearly not sustainable as it higher than DMFS, its likely July is in the same category, but looks like there is a delay in that number compared to approvals for some reason.

Also, there was a surge of DMFS from November after Trump got elected, perhaps in anticipation of faster approval, so we might continue seeing DMFS trend down now that the surge is over.
