kacy, agree with you, fallout from the sub prime will be like the recent 3 residential fiascos here in oz..........investors lose money due to bad management etc, the property still has a value, and plenty willing buyers for that property.........some investors will lose all their money.........because they put all their eggs in one bad basket........simply bad investment techniques.......but others will make money.....
the stockmarket raced ahead of itself............so a few corrections needed to take the steam out of it...........and some people will panick and sell and lose money........others will profit from the panick.....on another level believe some have taken their profits and put it back into property.........unbelievable amount of houses and units on the market being snapped up very quickly.........think some cashed out of property to put it into the superfunds.............but once its in the superfund it has to go back to either cash, shares or property.............
some think property is expensive..........I think the average is probably on the cheap side..........anyway I have commercial and residential property, cash and shares..........fairly conservative approach, cannot say I have amassed a fortune or anything remotely like some posters here say........made my biggest gains in the property market...........more from luck buying in 2000 - 2002 and selling 2004 for 300% gain, and holding other properties purchased 2000 -2002 cost about 550,000 now mv about 2.300,000, plus earning about 4.5%..........properties are all in 'inner suburbs' some property guru reckoned they will be worth about 13 mill each by 2030-2040..........whooaa that will be the kids inheritance....
always try to have cash for the 'lucky' moments
    cheers
