Tax cuts and handouts to the wealthy are even more expensive. Not just to the federal budget, but for the inflationary effect which in turn leads to interest rate rises, which leads to the mortgage belt paying a higher share.
Its redistribution one way or the other. Just depends whether you believe it should go from the rich to the poor, or the poor to the rich.
