Am presently in the US where I attended an airshow in late July. Over ten thousand light aircraft flew in to the show and thousands drove to the show in motorhomes or towing caravans. Cessna, one of the largest light aircraft manufacturers here, introduced a small, two seat, light sport aircraft which will sell for about US$110k. They were accepting orders for the aircraft, with a $5,000 deposit and were hoping to sell 150. By the end of the show they had sold almost 600.
There appears to be a lot of commercial development going on, as well as large road developments. Everywhere I have been so far, you can see billboards advertising for employees, especially long distance truck drivers.
Shopping centres appear to be very busy compared to when I was last here three years ago and many retail outlets have signs advertising vacancies for full and part time staff.
Shaw doesn't look like a slowing economy to me.
