Im not an UG miner either, but here's some mining 101:
Gold Mining is all about ounces per vertical metre - underground or open cut. The greater the better.
Vertical orebodies generally have less mining dilution than inclined orebodies, but are both mined (UG) by the same methods. eg Longhole open stoping.
Narrow orebodies are at higher risk of excessive dilution or ore loss - which obviously will effect the bottom line.
Ground conditions is one of the factors which can effect ore loss and dilution. Good technical/mining team is another.
