Sweat, I don't like having my money tied up in anything unless I know with certainty it will keep going up and you just don't know this with Santos. There has been a big drop in US oil inventories over the last months and a drop in production this last week because of Harvey, and yet the oil price has gone down because of refineries being shut down. You have to think of the fundamentals, in my view there is so much oil in the world that companies have to cut production and still the oil price is stuck around $50.00. Santos may yet be able to get their gas from Narrabri, but even so there are no guarantees so you may be better putting your money in something you actually believe in rather than something just because the SP is low and you think you will make money. I know they have done a good job reducing costs and debt but I think you need to step back and have a good think about it before investing (even though $50K in my book isn't really a large investment).
