Interesting article on various uses of coal.....and yes, seems you can make 1.5 barrels of diesel fuel from a tonne of coal.

Another interesting fact: USA has 496 B tonnes of coal total according to above link.

So, SPX could have equiv of 6% of entire USA coal stocks.....pretty impressive for a micro-cap Co.

We are talking potential of 32B tonnes x 1.5 barrels= 48 Billion barrels @ about $90 a barrel.....$4,320 Bill.

I can see why no-one has proposed these figures, for fear of being called a pumper.

Before anyone suggests that of moi, can i say i did see a capex cost on one of those big plants at around 4 Bill....so, i guess it would never happen without a JV with a MAJOR like Shell, or something.

Food for thought, though....i had no idea boring old coal was so potentially valuable.
