Mate immediately liquidation is against "Going Conern" assumption of accounting which is underlying principle of financial statements. Your point is quite applicable on tangible assets as well where forced sale value is significantly lower than market value of assets whether real estate, equipment or inventory. I don't think so this comparison is applicable here. Cheers
