What record is that, have the Federal Police got ATO yet b4 Courts and the like, see article below? For shares like A2M/ ATM, can't Australian residents offset their Australian CGT within companies and trusts by other losses and the like tho? Only from what I read so pls DYOR.
Oh, unlike the IRS which has a governance and risk person for every tax investigator, the ATO can't monitor their own governance, risk and compliance judging by the $165 million Cranston disaster, see below from the ABC http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-05-18/how-the-afp-investigation-into-ato-fraud-unfolded/8536784
$165 million AUD goes missing. Wow, great compliance that? If Inland Revenue or Te Tari Taake did that, the Government whether National or Labour (even Jacinda's) would not survive the fallout. The ATO have a shocking track record IMHO. Perhaps Canberra needs to deal with that, not even Jacinda could do that bad?
