Amazon will allow better penetration of online retail as a concept which will in fact make it easier for niche retailers to distribute online.
In the U.K., which has the highest online penetration rate (for retail) in the world, online furniture retailers such as made.com (not listed) appear to be doing very well. There is no reason that TPW can't coexist with a successful Amazon.
More importantly is the question of valuation. Once the model is properly breakeven, the question really becomes what does the stock rerate to. Obviously the directors believe the stock is cheap at this price. Looking across sectors, I think a P/S ratio of 2 is generally justifiable with reasonable growth prospects- which gives a target price of 1.20-1.50 over the next 18 months or so. I would be interested in hearing other holders' thoughts on where they are hoping this to end up?
