Mine was a bit of a cheeky reply earlier ... intended to raise a laugh, not to offend you ... so apologies.
I am not sure why the $122 mill doesn't faze me, but it doesn't.
I have in the past been fazed by things like $900 mill for a national splurge on fridges and wide screen TVs, $billions for a range of middle class welfare packages, $50 billion for was it 10 submarines (why not save $10 billion and buy just 8?)? I could go on.
I don't want parliamentarians to vote on SSM. I think a plebesite is fair and reasonable and would be conducted with dignity, but Shorten canned it.
A postal vote is legal (apparently) so $122 mill to have the nation express its will and put this issue to bed (no pun intended) seems ok to me.
