High grade zinc intersections from Conquistador

Now should be interesting.... very good start IMHO :)

    • A new zone of zinc mineralisation intersected 140 metres grid south from previous drilling.

    • CNQRC045 returned:

    o 21 metres at 3.14% zinc, 0.68% lead, 1.08 g/t gold from 134 to 155 metres including:

    o 2 metres at 8.49% zinc, 2.94% lead, 0.35 g/t gold from 146 metres, and

    o 1 metre at 12.21% zinc, 1.71% lead, 12.2 g/t gold from 154 metres

    • CNQRC045 terminated in high grade zinc mineralisation at 155 metres.

    • A ground electromagnetic survey is planned to define drill targets based on these results

Zinc Co completed 1360 metres of RC drilling in 11 holes at the Conquistador Project in July 2007.

Six holes (CNQRC044 to CNQRC049) were completed on two traverses (local grid 12400E and 12800E) across the southern margin of a strong IP chargeability geophysical target.

The zone was defined by a reconnaissance MIMDAS survey on 400m spaced lines completed in 2003. All previously reported significant drill intersections are within the chargeability zone which is from 350 metres to 600 metres wide over 800 metres strike and open to the west. The drill traverses were designed to define the limits of mineralisation associated with the chargeability zone.

On the 12800E traverse, holes CNQRC044 and CNQRC045 returned significant zinc intersections CNQRC045 is 140 metres from previous drilling.

CNQRC046, 50 metres south of CNQRC045, intersected 30 metres of strong pyrite with broad zones of anomalous zinc, lead and gold. CNQRC049, a further 50 metres south, was abandoned due to drilling conditions in overburden at 29 metres.

On the 12400E traverse CNQRC047 intersected weakly pyritic sericite schist with weakly anomalous zinc values. CNQRC048 encountered a dolerite dyke at 98 metres and was not an effective test of the target.

A further five holes in the programme (CNQRC039 to CNQRC043) were located in areas of previous drilling. All holes intersected significant sulphides (e.g. 16 metres from 72 metres of 5 volume % pyrite in CNQRC041) and broad intervals of anomalous zinc/lead/gold values including the higher grade zones listed in Table 2.

CNQRC039 and CNQRC040 intersected post mineral basic dykes from around 100 metres down hole and were not effective tests of the target.

The southern drilling traverses have demonstrated that the east north east trending mineralised corridor at Conquistador extends significantly further grid south than previously known and contains high grade zinc mineralisation associated with significant gold values.
Zinc Co has the right to earn up to a 75% interest in the Conquistador Project from Giralia Resources NL. Subject to the terms of a split commodity deed, Giralia retains certain rights to explore for and exploit gold deposits.

    FOLLOW UP PROGRAM

A ground electromagnetic survey is planned to define targets for follow up drilling. The survey is designed locate extensions to the drilled high grade zones and to test for new mineralisation within and on the margins of the IP chargeability zone.
