That is fine, but lets see the comparison figures for renewables. Those subsidies will dwarf these ones. I recall people been paid to install solar panels.
If anyone wants to understand why electricity prices are going uphill overeast here is the reasons for you:
1. No reservation policy for gas unlike WA which has one.
2. Banning gas exploration onshore means less gas to drive power stations which reduces competition. Add to that closing coal stations and bingo renewables cannot fill the gap reliably and at a cost competitive rate. In other words govt banning gas exporation onsome states plus closing coal fired power stations is the subsidy now been given to renewables not even mentioning all those other subsidies govt provides.
3. Too many people confuse base load power options with household needs. Base load is what industry wants and that can only be supplied by coal, gas, and nuclear currently and battery storage is hopeless for industries such as that. Take the battery proposal in SA - that only stores power for 1 hour in a day and wold account for less than 5% of total power use in SA, and if get 4 of them, so get 4 hours now, would be cheaper to build a 300 MW gas fired power station that can operate 24 hours.
4. Privatisations - an absolute disaster in the electricity generating industry.
