As an aside...how many media news stories would you guess you have seen/read/hear of over the past, say, 20 years or so, touting a new experimental drug that completely cures cancer/diabetes/hiv?
From my perspective, its gotta be more than 500, and that's across 3 countries I've lived in.
And yet, the plethora of oncological illnesses remain, albeit recently far more controllable.
Media look for content. Excited researchers looking for a profile provide this content at will. The media lap that sh1t up like a dog in a calving paddock.
Meanwhile, the real conversation about real treatments occur at conferences like ASCO, ESMO et al.
IMO media stories about cancer treatments are little more than clickbait.
