re: bad press..speed cameras lie.. good point gse - imagine if all the money thats raised went into changeable speed limits etc, dividing cables, driver instruction - harder to argue against.

The stats show a consistant trend with no effect of any speed related policy changes - Stats are my business I dont need to even throw a computer at those to see that there is no confidence interval break in any of those outlying years - road toll is coming down because Very excessive speeding is down, safer vehicles (airbags in 2nd hand cars now), and much better roads - the number of dual carriageways going in is greatly received - I am sure you have noticed this dct - harder to hurt yourself if you dont come to a sudden stop.
