I consider myself a fairly patient investor but my gripe has been the "glacial like" progress of commercialization. Now I can handle that products take time to develop, however the concern that patents have an expiry date set, so that we may never fully benefit from this great technology. You know 20 year patent, 10 years to get to commercialization, 5 years ramping up to product acceptance and then 5 years reasonable cash flow and then not much. I'm sure there are patent extensions available but are they guaranteed?

Can anyone advise on the likelihood that we will still be getting royalties in 20+ years with the technology going to market now?
