WELLINGTON, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Consumer confidence in New Zealand edged down in the third quarter of this year, a survey showed on Tuesday.
The Westpac-McDermott Miller consumer confidence index dipped to 112.4 from 113.4 in the previous quarter. A reading above 100 indicates more optimists than pessimists.
"Although expectations for the coming year have softened, households remain fairly upbeat about the economic outlook," said Westpac Chief Economist Dominick Stephens.
