I have a better, simpler idea. Allow the eastern states to frack tight gas formations, and they will have plenty of gas. Not hard.
FFS, the way it's going, Vic will import gas on the spot market from export cargoes leaving QLD, instead of being able to access it domestically via pipeline. Madness.
