    hi dave

    1) i use Marketscan by Paritech...

    run a scan each morning. pick 3-6 shares for my watchlist.

    2) i use power etrade (webiress system), hardly ever have any problems.

    3) when you've put your 3-6 shares on a watchlist using live feed just sit back and watch the pre open depth. see which are likely for a quick buy.

    4) use the KIS method, don't have too many shares on the watchlist (3-6 is more than enough). if you dont do a trade for the day then so be it. there's alway tomorrow.

    5) after a short period you get into a rhythm knowing whats what ie: shares that are good daytrade buys.

    ==================================
    Which software do you recommend for scanning SB? Do you run a scan say every 1/2 hour, or is there software that can sit and scan a live data feed.

    I have been using The Bourse / BourseData live which I find invaluable to watch particular stocks, but this cannot scan and often only later I find I have missed the action elsewhere.

    Which direct trading platforms use Webiress?

    I still trade using a broker because I am always worried I will get stuck if Commsec or Etrade or Sanfords goes down under load as so often seems to be complained about on HC.

    Cheers,

    Dave
