Pilot burn failing is one of the operational risks which certainly exist. Without them the prospect of $35m/yr op profit would be eye watering but it isn’t guaranteed to come about.

Burn failure could happen but:
a) There can be few in the West with a longer standing interest and experience in UCG than Mssrs Walker and Blinderman. So if anyone’s going to have picked a suitable site then they will have. Which was really my point in the original post.
b) Just how many pilot burns have failed? Name me more than two! The odds are decent.
