Exactly - the Core issue of affordability and greed of homeowners.

Unfortunately there is no cure in the short term. Bit like buying shares on margin then asking the govt for help when the margins are called. THEY WONT DO IT. Its the hedge funds that have bought this mortgage debt, securitised it, leveraged it then sold it all over the world. The hedge funds/banks are the ones the fed will bail out everytime.

Decreasing fed funds rates wont work since any money the home owner has left over - wont be going on their 30/40 yr homeloan when theyre borderline foreclosure. Itll be going on a nice bottle of Bundy or an extra toy for bubs. But the fed will have to drop rates and try. Theyre best off buying back the mortgages 30% under market value and renting them back to the owners imo

Market investors aims are all the same - TO MAKE $$$$ and as much as possible without the fear of making more. Since the market is run by the Big $$$, its just intelligent practice to be a sheep and follow what the big $$$ do.

At the moment, central bank short positions in gold are getting unwound, and in large quick spurts. And net long postitions are increasing. This is not because gold is an attactive dividend paying investment. Its because the USD is about to topple along with the US economy. Its just when?

Its not rocket science - gold is a commodity that 99% of the world investment participants understand - and its a commodity that the big $$$ do follow and are starting to position themselves.
