Pain before gain. After incurring huge losses during the dot com bubble, I swore that I would not repeat the same mistakes. I had to go back to work to save enough for trading again and then convince my Wife that I was capable of outwitting other traders. Only the best survive this game. It's the only job where you can put in a day's work and be worse off at the end of the day.
My education has taken several years and has been boosted by me trading the US markets as well as the ASX. I am still learning and wellcome new techniques. You need an edge. Otherwise forget it.
As you can see, this is not a simple question to answer as what works for one may not work for another. It all depends on your trading style and objectives. If you wan't to make a Million $, then I would say: go buy some lottery tickets.
