is there vcr competition

I like VCR. Don't have any since margin call and long
recent drop. So, following is question or request to
VCR :

Given that stem cell technology has been in the news
lately, does VCR see stem cell research as a direct
competitor?

If not, why not? And, if so, is it likely that stem cell
research will be sufficiently in advance to compete
directly with VCR in the 2 - 3 year time-frame?

My investing in VCR is directly linked with the reply to these questions.
