Why is a long established and innovative company like Ituran moving away from it’s core technology…DSSS based technology… that they developed and have established in markets across the world…why are they moving (in the same direction as the broader market) to GPS/Celluar technology?
Why have they suddenly moved away from DSSS/FSSS wirleless platforms?
Because it allows them to meet the expanding needs and wants of the global marketplace…DYOR on Motorola, Nokia, Microsoft and see the inroads these companies are making in providing not only the basic Track, Trace, Monitor, and remote control applications but incorporating a raft of new applications.
    Extract Ituran FY report 2006/07….
"We will consolidate Mapa's results as of the start of the third quarter," continued Mr. Sheratzky. "We believe our recently launched GPS system in Israel complements our existing services, and fits our strategy of continuously expanding the scope of the location based services that we can offer to our customers."

In two years since QTk announced the China ‘Deal’ in that time the rest of the competitors have passed by QTK’s technology.

Look at the number of car makers putting telematics directly in their vehicles as standard

I suspect QTK has become an ‘also ran’ and will be designated a smaller piece of any market it now enters. If it survives???

Just my opinion ( based on my research ) …but at least something constructive and factual for comment by all?

    Cheers
