If I were them, I'd use the rubies beyond 300,000 to cherry pick and upgrade the general quality of the pool available for sale in this first, critical auction. It would give Mustang the reputation as being a prolific supplier of quality rubies. So the longer we go without a guide on volume or quality, the more I think this. Then they have time to cherry pick and load the next auction. It's not a good strategy to just offload all you have, especially since the first lot contains the lower quality ones they extracted first. And if they have found say 5 or 10 really special stones, would they put them all in the first auction or hold some back to the second?
It's all a game as auctions are. Because of the extra volume they've pulled out, I'm saying $150 average minimum.
