I've had the same thing many times in the past week or so. You can see all your pulled posts by clicking on the link on "My Account" and then "My Moderated Posts" and sometimes they put an explanation in there for why they pulled it.
I think there is a lack of consistency but I guess it's because different moderators have different views.
