saint, nah, you're wrong. That advertised ig 5 pt spread has disappeared of late cos they were losing money on it. First they put trading on a 'call' basis when the spread on the direct market widened to more than 5 pts, but too many complained I think, so now they just have a wide spread that reflects the real market. The 20 pt spread on night spi I was referring to was on the direct market. Its not unusual. Nothing to do with the brokers, just the market. Not enough traders use it at night to have a reasonable spread outside of the first and last hour, when liquidity improves. Trouble is, of course, that its the middle part of the session that can provide the most oppos.. if the spread didn't add so much to the risk. I think its a sucker market for newish traders who haven't been slapped around enough to have learned about risk, they only think potential reward.
