I have no idea why chartists put so much weight on graphs.
In my simple minded way, I see company fortunes being driven by some of the following:
Global commodity supply and global commodity demand.
Global and regional stock holdings available for usage
Global sharemarket movements
Country sharemarket movements
Investments made by fund holders, market manipulators, etc, etc
Quality of company management, and level of trust placed in them by investors (and more importantly fund managers)
Seasonal factors
Dividends
Company forecasts & the quality of them
Market sentiment.
What charting has to do with these, I don't know.
Seems to me that obsessing about a graph leaves one blind to many other macro factors.
