I won't disagree re banks although of course it's all in the timing. Right now the banks seem a little hungover and are looking for a place to lie down for a while.
Just my impression.
Re the NAB-AMP thing, research in the US and UK markets shows that about 80% of the time companies underperform after taking over another company.
I'll take those odds any day.
